You get two variants of the hat in the same recipe; a baggy variant and one that is more snug and shorter.
The hat has a double-sided braid that also allows you to vary the hat with how wide brem you want.
The hat is great both with or without tassel.
Yarn (alternative 1): Mjuk yarn, www.Charmis.no, 100 % wool. 50 g = ca. 287 meter/313 yards. Held double.
Amount of yarn required: 100 gram Mjuk
Yarn (alternative 2): 100 g DROPS Air, Garnstudio, 70 % alpaca, 23 % polyamide, 7 % wool. 50 g = appr. 150 meter/164 yards.
Amount of yarn required: 100 g DROPS Air
Other alternatives: Other alternatives are Lettlopi and Supersoft, Holst Yarn.
You may use any aran or even bulky weight yarns, just keep an eye on the gauge.
Needles: 5 mm (US 8) circular needle or other size to obtain gauge.
Gauge: 17 stitches = 10 cm / 4″ in stockinette stitch. Gauge is essential to this project and will affect the finished size and meterage/yardage. Please make a swatch to make sure the gauge is obtained.
